Denver-based Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, Inc., the largest concrete pumping service in the United States, has been purchased by an affiliate of Peninsula Pacific Partners, LLC.

The total transaction price is approximately $171 million, according to a spokesperson for Brundage-Bone.

None of Brundage-Bone's management or 550 employees will be affected by the transaction.

Brundage-Bone operates in 51 locations in 16 states in the west, mountain, mid-west and south-central regions of the United States.

Two of Brundage-Bone's better known projects in the Denver area are the DIA South Terminal Expansion and the Denver Zoo's Elephant Passage Exhibit.

The DIA expansion includes a 500-room hotel, train station from downtown Denver and a new rail bridge that will go over Pena Boulevard. The general contractor, Mortenson Construction, chose Brundage-Bone to pump the project.

Brundage-Bone noted that the Denver Zoo's Toyota Elephant passage exhibit has achieved LEED certification at the platinum level, the highest level, by the U.S. Green Building Certification Institute.

The company said that among its historic highlights has been the creation and development of the Mudsnake, an advanced collapsible hose capable of withstanding high pressure and used for pumping concrete into tight spaces.

Peninsula Pacific is a Los Angeles-based investment fund that provides capital to solve the commercial and liquidity needs of middle-market businesses.

Bruce Young, president and CEO of Brundage-Bone, said that Peninsula Pacific is a "perfect partner for his company.

"The Peninsula Pacific team recognizes the value of Brundage-Bone, our employees, and the many loyal customers and vendors who rely on our services," said Young in a statement.

Brent Stevens, chairman of Peninsula Pacific, said that the Brundage-Bone is a highly attractive company with a differentiated fleet of pumping equipment and a highly skilled group of employees.

Brundage-Bone has a deep network of national and local contractors, Stevens said in a statement.[
