Do you allow mixer trucks to back up to your pump unaided?

I totally agree, but when I tell a driver or salesperson something they look at me totally bewildered.I have been working in the Baton Rouge area for about 3 years and it bogles my mind how some things are handled.

Never I have always shut off pump and back them in if other driver can't. Again the more nice you are to them the easier your pour will go. Try to give the first trucks as much info about the pour as you can it will go a long way. That way he will tell the other drivers and the office so they can send help if needed. We are the best go between the crew and drivers.

Dont have a comparison for being layed back, been pumping concrete in south Louisiana for 30 years, but it seems to me the people who are responsible/in charge of these redimix plants and jobs just dont know any better. They assume that a good product is being delivered and that everything being done, is the way it is suppose to be.I just smile and try to keep it to myself. If possible I take charge,if not I get out of the way and hope they leave me a hopper to wash out.
