The driver of a concrete pumper truck escaped serious injury after his vehicle went up in flames on Highway 400 on Monday afternoon.

Flames engulfed the truck just before 4 p.m. on Monday near King City. The southbound lanes were closed for several hours at Highway 9, while crews contended with the fire.

OPP say the driver sustained minor injuries, the roadway was also damaged.

It's unclear what started the fire.
