I was just curious how all you boom pumpers started out?did you start on a trailer pump and then go to a boom or just start on a boom?

Started on a mixer, then a boom almost 20 yrs ago. No line pump for me.

im a line pumper at the moment but wouldnt mind getting to run a boom especialy with the union thats how you make good money

yeah I started on a mayco ball valve , then to a 28m whiteman , to Elba 31m, schwing 32m , to a putz 36,42, schwing 58m, putz 38m, schwing 45m, still run a linepump somedays.That was 23 years ago, man what fun I've had.

Wow Dipstick that was a real learning pump. That one and the old 23m black and white after that every boom was smooth.

CPI over 20 years ago. Worked for my dad on the trailer pumps. Wouldn't put me on a boom so I quit and went back to KCK to run a boom. 

Started at driving a mixer for 15 years and was put on a schwing line pump during this time, trained many people and then was introduced to operating boom pumps for almost 10 years now.

I worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for many years, then got in a mixer....drove those for eight years and saw pumps alot. I wanted to get into one and when the opportunity presented itself I did. Started with a Schwing 28m, then moved up to a Cifa 36Z whcih I'm still running. I have run line pumps on and off but don't care for them all that much, i'm getting a bit old for wrestling with line lol. I still do line work with the Cifa from time to time but I like to have a helper for the day.
