how many miles on the chassis?  like most, ive driven some loosy goosy trucks.  What does the other side look like and is this normal as i ve been told in the past?  i drive pretty slow on rough roads and dodge holes like a mofo,  i ve had all six leafs on three differnet pumps replaced on tandum/tandunm through the years.  do these girls just brake their own knees?  single front ends,  never had a vehicle do such a JUMP front axle, and never had to replace anything?  CVIP is every year.

Not knockin any ower of equipment.  this is a mack issue for me.

that pump has great PTO vs engine hour ratio, imo.  not to shaby for an 02.  as much as i hate them, some do last even though they still suck.  But it is not a regen

At 500000 miles and 4000 truck hours it would need to be running 125 mph at all times it has been running. they have been replaced. at 500000 miles it probably has 10 -12000 hours

Mack's fall apart at somepoint but not that fast. The earliest I had to back half a maxitourq was 10,000 truck hours. And i use to do them on my own also but I just had one done at Mack for $3400 and it was back in one day. If I do it half day to pull half a day to put it in and half a day ordering and chasing parts. Oh and a special tool for the air cyl seal

the speacialty tools are the killer.  either buy that speacial tool (if possible) that may never get used again or take er into the shop and have a huge jass bill.  i like the options...
