It's a station for a light rail system, the portion which we were pumping is approximately 8KM. It was cut and cover construction, rather than bored tunnel. Excavate anywhere from 15-50 feet below street level, pour a mud-slab, pour the base-slab on top of that, then pour the roof/wall section in one go using custom made forms by Peri. I "guesstimate" about 450 cubic meters of concrete for every 20 lineal meters of tunnel. Kept us busy for the last four years since almost all of it was pumped. Perhaps a once in a lifetime experience! here are a few more pics. of the project...
