There are a lot of things sad about that. Some of them where reply hitters. Like this one http://concretepumping.com/index.php?mode=newboard&act=topic&tid=7769 We don't have to start all over again. |

We do it often here. But some say its a huge problem for the crane. Funny that the cranecompanies here don't know that. I asked a maintainance guy from Potain about it and he said it was no problem. You would expect he knows what he's talking about. Besides that its not our responsibility to decide what the crane lifts. Its the cranedriver that has to make that desicion. Another argument has been that if the crane puls to hard at the boom of the pump you could dammage the boom. Therefor I use a long hose between the pipes in the crane and the boom. That hose should always hang straight down the first meters of the boom so you will always be sure you are not pulling. |

I hate this way and I think one time it will bend or break one boom |

Probbably yes.. One day someone does it wrong. Just like some day a pump will tip over again because someone put his outriggers at the wrong place.. I see on your picture the endhose is not hanging straight down. The crane is pulling on the boom.. Thats not ''ideal''... |
