The reason those pictures are on the photo page is so that people, like you, can bring up these issues. In fairness to the guy with his head about to be torn off with the velocity reducer; this picture is pretty old. We as individuals and as an industry (hopefully) get smarter every day. Some of the things we used to do; we now laugh at.But, YES, GOOD FOR YOU!!! You hit the nail on the head. These are pictures of people about to get hurt. Thank you very much for bringing it up ;)

Part of the issue here in these pictures is that we as operators, hopefully having seen some time behind the controls have witnesses the projectiles, that can be forced through the boom and what can happen. Most of the crews have never seen this type of power or even had a guy get smacked with a reducer, a plug, a falling clamp. So it is up to us to try to insist that they wear the H-hats, and even have a spare so that we can offer it, I always do. Also I like the idea of giving out the glasses as that
