WHY did you have to hang something there at all?
And what you can or can't hang there is in the manual...
All I'm willing to hang from my boom is 5m when it's above 4" and 10-15m below 4".

I thought Brundage had some fancy safety director that worked for them.  Where was he on this job?  Real good work guys.  I've got to praise you for letting your operator do that.........  Good thing no one got hurt. 

Oh the pic is just priming into a pan. We're pumpin pier holes 50' deep.

And im all 4 a 50' mudsnake but I doubt I'll ever c one. But ya I've suggested that allready.

50' is about 15m, so 15m of 3 inch would be about ok in my book, if you can't get a mix for that and have to use 4" I would request a crane to hold it.

1"/1.5" rock hard to pump even thru the 4"!!

Use some pipe, hold them with a crane, lull, whatever, take some weight off of the boom.  I've seen the ends pull right off of a tip hose before.  Rubber trimmies can be used as well.  Put them on the end of your tip hose, and put a clamp around it.  Have done it many times.  They work great. 

This is how we used to do it, upto 70 metres deep pillars, thats about 200 feet...

Its all in the training but [they] is sitting behind a desk telling every customer he has he can do it all and you[we] get stuck in the middle trying to tell them tenthousand reasons we aint doing it.so its getter done or someone else will. good untill something gives,right.wrong...what you do today still impacts tommorrow.put a stress crack in your boom today might not break today,might be tommorrow . i would hate to go to bed at night knowing i killed/maimed or cripled someone and you would to.

no dont quit but train [they] as to why you are not in the crane buisness and in to pumping,if [they] dont get it tell him he's in the wrong buis.he needs to be selling crain jobs. not pumps.they sit there taking all the glory when everything go's good. but when something happens there nowhere to be found .and blaiming everyone else.

I agree, we've said it over and over till we turn blue. Only thing we can do is go over the immediate commanders heads, to their superiors. And no guarantee that would do anything but get back to them and make life really tuff for us. Cuz Im sure I'll Get cut b4 them.

What you could have done to take some weight of the boom is to not use the last section, but put the hoses one section in. Takes some weight of, but if it's safer I can't guarantee you.
We had to do that when we pumped iron slag concrete, wich is 50% heavier than normal, into an oil tank as ballast, if not the boom would have collapsed.
It's in the latest putz magazine (European that is) BTW. :D

Uh-oh yard whore, management told you to take that picture down today didn't they?  Don't want to ruin the safety illusion.  I've seen those boys in orange hang two and sometimes three hoses off 24 and 28 meters on drill jobs, and on a couple occasions seen them waterwashing through two hoses into a mixer on the side of the highway.

 I dont know what the pic was but I got a pretty good guess? The question came much later than it should have. Next time ask if it's safe or not BEFORE you actually do it.
