Is there any written info on what do you do, or what are the options when you plug up your pump? How do you unplug your pump. Anyone know?

I guess what I am asking is if any of this knowledge is written down?

I think any operator who has taken the ACPA cert . test and passed knows what to do.

I think any operator that has took apart his boom pipe on the jobsite knows what to do. There are so many scenarios you can end up with. ( where it plugged, why it plugged )

Putting the boom straight up in the air and pumping back and forth until it comes out is the dumbest thing to do. What happens when that plug finally comes out and the concrete flies 500 feet away. Do you know how many broken windows and paint jobs you are buying on all the cars around. I know someone who did this and it was not pretty. If you put the boom straight up, you should only pump reverse and only forward a stroke or two. NOT until it comes out of the hose while over 100' in the air. Todd says it might be a stupid question, I think he was curious how many stupid answers he could get.

it actually works really well if you know what you are doing.(clean out hopper first and fill with water and boom doesnt need to be straight up if it's in deck first or second.)

see this is my point, how do you know what to do, can we learn from each others mistakes.

my pump plugged on prime this past monday morning with a spread mix 8000psi w/57 stone after being told by ready mix rep it was a 789 stone mix,it didnt apear to be to wet so i went with it ,i use the prime port so i figured it wouldnt be a problem,but it was and it did,after trying reverse and forward  with boom A framed it did nothing,i raised the boom almost straight up and reversed full bore , it released ,lowered boom back to A and finished the prime. the spread was only 11inch out of a 24inch spread.some times we get lucky ,right? just one rule to remember never stroke pump forward while boom is raised straight up.could be devastating. 

Thank you pumperchuck. That is exactly what I was trying to say but others think it is ok to keep pumping forward with boom straight up. They think that once plug is out, the concrete will just fall straight down. Ha Ha, I would pay big money to see it happen that easily.
