ralphs in seattle has done some of those and it looks like it sets on a 4x4 stick and ears are welded on the frame to make the bed. they put a round 100 gallon water tank behind the cab.

if i did a truck mount i would have putz run a full length frame and body width ready to go and i would place the pony motor forward so the hydrolic tank cleared the wash box.

my reason is that the unit would be better balanced and i horse shoe my 17 foot hoses and pull them off the back of the bed.

i could still put a water tank behind the hydrolic tank say 50-100 gallons so after washing that weight is gone but the hopper is still dirty and- or carrying a load that will not contribute to a lot of ass end weight.

its all a bunch of work but you should get the set up that you are looking for so having putz do the math on the first one could be worth while, it might cost 6-8 K more but save some headachs.

Check out pictures & media on "Site Sections" left hand of screen. Go to "more for April" photo 19, Chrisbrown.jpg. This is a Transcete Trojan mounted on a Mitsubishi Cantor, the same class truck as the GMC (Izuzu Japan) You will see how the pump cell is on an angle to lower the hopper and clear the diff. Make sure overhang is no more than 60% wheelbase. Also you have to cut one cross rail support and make a new style unit to box in the rear spring hanger section of the chassis, easy to do.
