hey guys k so we are at the point of tearing our hair out with this issue on our 07 putz z boom. the issue is when pumping or not pumping say washing out. the truck shuts the pump system down like someone has pushed a E stop or the battery has died on the remote. click the outrigger horn reset everything comes back on and we can start pumping again. And within a min or so it drops off again. rest and away we go again some days it will last the whole pumping job other days its like every five mins it drops off. we have tried changing batterys tried putting a extra wire ontop of the transmitter of the truck. talked to putz they said open up the remote and see how it all looks. so we did that and found a atenna wire off. so plugged it in and tried it out and works like a charm. k so now we have another issue push the volume switch on the remote and blah truck drops out. never did that before when you click the volume switch it never dropped out. So my question is why when we plugged the atenna wire in on the remote the volume switch acts up Yell any help idea would be great

You have a volume "switch"?? Not a dial?

yup push the switch up increase volume push down decrease volume. one notch at a time

Ok you are not going to like this

have you. Tried the hardware remote ?

If this is working fine then something deeper is wrong in the remote, this test must be done

also design the truck is dropping out, do you mean the unit is going to e stop or just the RPM lowering , or the engine dies ?

we tried the black and white remote all works great on there volume and all. as for the truck dropping out it goes to a E stop function rpm lowers. boom and pump functions disabled

Have you tried a new battery or does it do the same thing with any battery you put In it?

I had a similar problem and solved it by cleaning the contacts on the batteries and on the remote with a small wire brush and electrical cleaner.

I'm no expert but that'd be my guess of order

1. Battery

2. Battery connectors( because that's common )

3. Your remote e-stop

again just a guess

There are pins that wear out where the battery makes contact. Sometimes the battery moves just a touch and functions drop out. This is an internal fix that needs to be done by the a qualified person. Try this, put a small "shim" of paper to wedge the battery in tighter. See if this stops the issue. If it slows it down or stops it, you have to send in the remote for service.

well ill try some of these suggestions. before we send it off. have been in contact with putz on the west coast in vancouver. here is just another question when you push the e stop on the remote the red light on the transmitter comes on saying no reception. but I will clean up the contacts and try shimming up the battery

I used to use a penny as a shim on an older pump I used to run

check all your electrical connections, not only the battery connectors

Had the same thing on are 2000 32Z     it would come and go   found out that it was the ground on the inside of the rear pannel that in on the male conector to the cable to the remote reciver.   If it all works fine on hard wire then look just at your remote cable     I have seen where the water tank has pinched the cable   clean all the conections and make sure they are tight      We had 3 bad electrical problems ALL was the groung wires

I had that with a hbc remote on 1 pump. First we found out 1 of the 4 pins that connect the batery was pushed in and din't come out. Than the mecanic pixed it but what he shouldn't have done was spray oil on these pins. The oil would come out and for a tiny layer on the tip of these pins and on the contacts of the battery. Cleaning these very wel with some paper fixed the problem but more oil came out again when switching the battery.

Another remote also had your problem but that was 1 with a display. I went to menu 7 i believe. where they show your errors. it showed a e stop sign but also a relais problem. seemed out there was a relais somewhere that was giving a bad signal. Do you have a display? check in the menu 7 what is the problem when it happens again. (someone correct me if it isn't menu 7 ;-)
