I'm out with a rookie who won't take my advice! Told him to pump the hopper down below the grille and just above the remixers to save it building up around hopper and bar it every 2 hours..

I'm sure I could have recycled that mud so I wouldn't have to do all the shoveling   mud doesn't look brick hard just yet. Rookies are hard headed though. Turn your back on them and they think they know it all

Looks to me like a lot of that hard work could have been done by the waterhose. But I guess his brilliant teacher told him that and he didn't listen to him again Wink

I would assume bar it means to scrape the sides of the hopper with a steel bar or stake.

That is the way I learned, and it saves a lot of effort when washing out.  Hitting it with water leads to seperation and plugging.

I meant ofcourse to use the waterhose when washing out. Not in the middle of a job ...

Any seasoned operators willing to share there rookie mistakes ? Here is my rookie mistake . 1977 when cross had a office in char. NC . My first time solo running a 28 m schwing it pugs in the boom and I didn't have a clue what to do . My first boom party. Never had a boom party since. But I relived that day when ever there is a plug in the boom or dealing with old crete.
