Mine has a leak. I think its in the top where the fifty or so bolts hold the top on. Its hard to see exactly where? its hard to get the top off with out taking the turbo intake heater ducting off, also even the a/c condenser. Is it common for these radiators to need service? Anyone have any advice?

Brian for a quick fix get a can of Barr's Leak something they will last for a couple of years.

If thats not what you want better get to a radiator shop and let them take it off.

That's pretty typical.   Go to your mack dealer and get an upper rad tank gasket.  We've only ever changed them once (i think the new ones are a modified design).  Our '02 has 15k+ hrs on it without having to do it again.  THe '06 and '07 machines all have the same problem too.

It'll take you half a day, but will get rid of the sweet smell of coolant in the cab every time the fan kicks on.  And yes, you have to remove all the stuff you said.

Thanks Green guy i think i'll order the top gasket and take it all apart, clean and put back together. I'll have to find a good torch wrench. Ed that quick fix stuff sounds good but ever since I plugged my old Toyota heater core up with it, i haven't used it.
