I took the cylinders out of my line pump to rebuild them and it seems one of the barrels has gouges in it and should be replaced.

I called Schwing and they only have the whole unit cylinder. At around $1600. after shipping. Catco said they make most barels but not this one.

Does anyoe know where i can get a barrel and end cap? Its the type with the rods to hold it together not the welded end type.

I told Catco to just put it back together with new seals for now.

Unfortunately the vendor no longer manufactures that design of cylinder. You need to install the cylinders with welded endcaps. Please give me a call and we can look at possibly giving a discount to get you into new cylinders.

Brian, Contact Jerry @ Reinart Pumps or Russell Smith @ Farren Equipment.

Jerry makes the 305 for Schwing and Farren equipment has a lot of 305 parts, they sold it under their own house brand.

Can you have it honed out and replace with bigger rings on the piston. I had one do the same thing and had a machine shop do that for me.They took out a thousanth of a inch or so. Really didn't cost that much and they are performing great. I'm sure others on here have had the same problem. PM me if you have any questions ?

Muddy feet thats a good idea, i do know some master machinest i just wonder if i could get oversized rings to fit? i'll call Catco tomorrow and ask.

I got them back from Catco. They ended up honing out the bad one 8-10 thousandthss inch. The guy was suprised when i said its been done successfully up to one thousandths but then stated maybe he could have upped the ring size to a meteric or the next size. But he got most the scratches out.

I'll try  it and see if it gets any oil seepage.

PS: Todd is there a way to do spell check on this reply mode?

It should work fine. Glad I could help{if I did} . I think my rings are standard now. We did have to go a little bigger on the rings. I would have to go back and look at the reciept. I kept that for future referance on the size. I've almost 100 hours on them know and they are still working fine. The shop that worked on them was suprised how thick the walls where on the cylinders and said their was plenty of tolerance.  Good luck to you!
