What are the odds of pumping a 1.5 agg mix through a 4" tip hose? This is a real nice blended mix! I like to call it       " The Candy". Are the risks too great for a 4 " tip? 5.5 slump

I dont think so , I have pumped alot of 32mm stone in through the boom and 100 meter 4" pipe and 3meter ruber to the placer. 1.5" = 37mm and if it is so good mud as you say so I would try it whitout no doubt... crusched or natural stone ?

I defnitely prefer 5 inch hose with 1 1/2 rock less hassle and heck if you arent pushing the hose all more the reason to us the 5. I hate nothing more than plugging

I am undecided if I should risk it! We are pumping at a pretty good clip so a clog could be lethal.

That should be no problem we do it in florida all the time 1.5 to 2" crushed rock.

Sometimes its the shape of the rock that determines the size of the hose.  We do 1.5 with 4 hose but its round rocks.

my rule of thumb has been 2x the aggs plus an inch so 1.5x2+1=4.... your good!

I always run a five inch tip hose unless i'm plugging into system,  never worry about a plug.  Maybe too old or too lazy to change.

Hey seed !

I think if you are even the slightest bit worried go with the 5 inch , see how it goes if it goes well try the 4 inch..

If your starting to doubt yourself stick to the safe option mate!

it is recommended that pipe and discharge be 3x (4x is prefered) then the aggregate.

if your pumping at a good rate...i'd go with the 5"

Thanks Everyone! I think I may give the 4" a shot for the hose man! As I mentioned the mix is good with no extra chunks in it. The RM outfit if # 1.
