hello im farly new to pumping. the other day my pump acted really weird. it was pumping smooth then all of a sudden it statrted taking small fast strokes on each side over and over not enough to push Mud though, if that makes sense. first i thought the proximaty switch went out becasue it has done that before and one of the wires were bad. changed it and problem solved this time it started. i stopped and stroked by hand, it worked no problem. so then i tried it on auto and after the second stroke it reved up and pumped turned off?? so i finished pumping by hand 15 yards after pump was cleaned i tried it again with no mud and it turned off again it made the sound like it was plugged then pump turned off again noting in the pump so after i was done i took it to a friend who pumps as well for him to check it out we turned it on and it stroked perfectly?????? a little confused.. the pump was slanting on a hill which i dont think has anything to do but thought i would mention that. i pumped 5 yards yesterday and had no problem..
any thought....
also ony thing i have done recently was change out the 2 main hydraulic hoses nothing else.. |

Next time it happens take your cover off the wet box then take a metal object ture on pump when it bottom out touch that proxy switch with the peice of metal a metal key will work then the other side, to me I think your proxy's are bad change them both, then you will have spares. |

That sounds like a relay inside your panel or voltage problems. Call Olin, Dave can tell you. |

Your short stroking thats not happing, reason it feel's that way is because no mud is dropping down for it to push, with certain ready mixes, mine does the same thing get some water down on top of the balls and watch it take off pumping, a pressuse washer wand but pull the trigger before you stick it down so it want plug with a grain of sand, Olin pumps are very operator friendly, it could be the auto switch on the control box, mine is a 2007 and has 1300 hours watch your hdy pressure gague if its feels like its short stroking there want be any pressure reading. |

thanks i will have to get one of those wands thats a good idea. i usually let the hopper run down and have to use a shovel or metal stake but i hate having to stop..
also i was using a vinrator inside the hopper with no screen. i was doing shotcrete thatday yes shotcrete// |

Thats not a good idea not using a screen cause ready mix truck are bad about spitting out peices that can plug, get you a pencial vibrator when doing stiff grout just hit each side so it will drop in, I sent you a note of someone that says he can tell you whats wrong. |
