No joke.  Wanna talk about a long damn afternoon.  I'm set up ready to go at 2pm.  Supposed to be 2 trucks and a will call to finish.  We're 45min from the plant.  First truck shows at 2:45.  Broke his damn throttle cable on the way there, fixed on the side of the rode, limped to the job with half a throttle.  Number 2 shows up, starts backing in, clips a piece a shale and blows an outside dual on the drive axle.  Shit, that was my turnaround truck.  Get him done, order another full truck, put a fourth on standby.  Truck with the blown tire runs back to the plant, throws on a spare, and batches my will call, a yard and half.  Blow the boom, wash, get back to the yard and greased at 6:55.  Hurry up and wait!!!!  Jeez

Sorry, it was 22.5 yards, not 21.5

I know it sucks . But look at it this way. You have to have a few bad days so you know how to judge the good days. Have a great week end.

If it was a flat-rate job, then it sucks, if there were hourly charges, then it's good for the pumper. This is precisely the reason for having pump rates hourly AND yardage. The pumper is in the middle, no control over either end. If it all goes well, and the mud volume is fast and it's over with quick, then it's to everyones benefit. If it goes slow, then the pumper has the hourly rate backing him up.

Agreed. When we arrive on site its a three hour minimum plus travel for smaller pumps. As long as i can turn around and recirculate its all good

I have days like those. Actually I kind of like them and think cha-ching while I recirc the mud. If it gets too long then I get a little agitated but, I have Delvo tabs on the truck so I can chill the mud too.

We don't do flat rate jobs.  It's a three hour minimum, hourly after that.  Probably wouldn't have minded so much, but I still had packing to do for the weekends fishing trip.  I'll take the extra three hours though.
