I'm getting little squeek out of my mud cups. Wondering if they're getting worn? The water still stays pretty clean. Or should I run some kind of lubricant in the water box? |

Use "Cutsol" it's a water soluble oil. A cup to about 20 gal water..it will soften the cups and clean any scratches in the chrome on the inside of the material cylinders, it will dissolve in the water and make it look like milk so clean out with that in mind. |

I have a 305. If it was me I would pull the cups and inspect them and the material cyls... then again it is my machine and my money. I have heard of everything from oil, to anti-freeze to you name it in the water box, imho... run water in it, that is what the engineers designed the "WATER box" for. If you are even remotely mechincally inclined it will take you a few hours at most and worst case, your out 60 bucks or so for new cups, and then you know there isn't something stuck in there making the sound and if your cyls are good or not. |

The P305 is manufactured by Reinert and they recommend to use water with oil in the water box for their pumps. |

There is the answer , don't never use Veggie oil like some say cause it makes a real mess on the out side of the box cause it has sugar in it and really hard to clean. my 6 cents worth. |

diff seal's are meant to deal with a liquid with a viscosity of water. working with the chrome finish on the rod for maximum removal of liquid and contaminants. If you say the water soulable oils softens the cups what does it do to the seals? they named this a water box not a oil box. If the cups are bad what are you doing to your concrete or your customers? I think you should check out the cups |

Exactly John! If it softens your cups it will soften your seals and, this is not a good thing. It will hasten water invasion in the hydralic oil, also it will shorten the life of your mud cups. |

I would defineately pull the rams and inspect them. I would not use anything in the water box that is very expensive. The best thing if you think yuou need to add something is the cheapest dish soap you can buy. this work as well as anything. Please call 612/845/6981 if you have additional questions.

Thanks guy's I didn't dig into it today, just looked at the parts diagram. One time it started squeeking then it went away? I'm thinking it would be easier to take the hopper upper part off to get to the cups? I've used slick pack before, just a little. |

If the cups are bad and you put soap in the water box you are really changing the air content in the mud. Soap is super air for concrete |

Your cups would have to be extremely bad for enough soap to get into the mix to change the entrained air content by a measurable amount. The waterbox would be full of slurry in no tie at all. His concern was the squeal that was occurring. I don't think he was losing a considerable amount of water nor was the water getting dirty too fast yet, either. |
