I have never ran the EZ but had a ton of experience on the Putz 31z and i could usually stuff all of the boom in but the main and 4 feet of the 2nd.. Of course it depends on the size and elevation of the opening your sticking it into. So basically i would sit off the building the length of my main plus 3-4 feet.

Shoud be close. As i said it depends on the door. Say if its a normal overhead garage door or something that should work. If you have a really high door you should be able to get closer. After a few times you will have it down pat.

I would start out a little bit further off than that til you get the hang of it. This coud save yourself some embarassment if you cant get it in the door as planned. You will love having that crazy boom though. Its funny seeing peoples reactions when you put the boom into places that people think would be impossible.

It is discussed on this site earlier but on the German Schwing site is stated that you can move in to a building whit the boom over the cab. I have done it many times whit a 24rz.

I would be on the safe side if it was just a normal poor with pipes/hoses.. Why take the risk of standing to close.. If you take half or 1 meter extra.. Who is going to be exausted of laying 1 meter extra hose or pipe? Good luck!

hey if you are going to run a EZ31 you can allso put the pump into the building if the sealing is higher than 6m (20ft) and unfold the boom there. you will need a space of 8 m (27ft) sideways to turn the boom around to the front.
