I POSTED A PROBLEM A COPY OF WEEKS AGO ABOUT MY 38Z PUTZ 2006 I THOUGHT IT WAS PLUGGING IN THE Z FORMATION NOW I HAVE FOUND THAT THE SWING VALVE STOPS STROKING BECAUSE THE LED LIGHTS ON THE PUMP CYLINDERS GO OUT LIKE THEY LOST THERE 24 V POWER INTERMITENT PROBLEM ALSO THE BLOCK WHERE THE 4 CABLES PLUG INTO THE GREEN LED IS NOT LIT I CHECKED THE BROWN WIRE TO THE BLOCK AND IT HAS 24V NOT SURE IF THAT IS CORRECT THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE

Check the continuity of each wire, make sure the wires are secured properly at the block and proximity switch, check to see if each proximity switch flashes when machine cycles.

another problem i think is related the faster you ran the pump when the swing valve would stroke i would here a bang right before the swing valve would shift like the pump pistin went to far before it stop and looking in the water box 1 piston traveled 4" farther than the other

you definetly have a prox switch problem, good news simple to fix, check switch box first, then switches on cylinders

there is also a way to center or calibrate your pistons cant remember everything been a while since i ran a putz but turn your strokes all the way down, rpms too, and when piston gets to bottom of stroke push and hold the button that makes your pump switch cylinders watch in the water box and youll see them re center, check your manual or call a putz rep on how to do this process, once your prox switches are fixed this banging may fix itself

yep try timing the cylinders.  stroke it forward hold down the interupt button it will get stuck hit interupt again they will be in time. This should be done every day those pumps leak off the oil when they sit overnight

2006 putzs had automatic stroke correction, this is probably what your experienceing in primeup.the pump high pressures until the stroke is corrected then continues to cycle. It sounds at this time like the machine is pressuring out.On your prox switches you should have a green light on each switch while the pump is in pto.this means that power is at the swithes. When the hydraulic piston head of the drive cylinder passes under the switch it'll flash orange, also at this time you'll see a light on the distributor box flash.this box is located next to the "brain" on the passenger side.If there isn't any green lights or orange flashes in the end of the prox switch connection, you could possibly have a bad distributor box,but most generally its abad power or ground connection at the motherboard in the electrical control box located in the side compartment.

Some times if the lever between the drive cylinders has misteriously lost its lock you will loose oil between the drive cylinders and this problem may result .

thanks for the help we replaced the junction block where the 4 prox switches plug in (yellow block) and away it went . i still noticed that one cylinder would bottom out a little with no concrete but not all the time thanks
