Paid $ 3.99 this morning for diesal here just outside Boston. Starting to push the panic button, does anyone know how high they could go ? What are people doing to offset the costs ? We are a commercial flatwork contractor running 4 pumps, and a fleet of 15 vehicles. 99 % of our work is contracted, some of these jobs were qouted over a year ago. I haven't seen prices on slabs or pumping rise in our area for almost 7 years ! Commercial work is still pretty strong, I don't know what the problem is anymore. Just curious if this is going on in other parts of the country. |

If rates go to 1.75 in July, we will be paying eight bucks a gallon! $300 a barrel! Then you can burn the dollar and exchange it for the Euro at a rate three grand a day! |

What would happen if our fine military charged a toll to all the tankers our Navy protects? Cops get paid dont they? If they dont want to pay the toll to the troll, we just escort our ships and let the rest of them fend for them selves. Why should the price of oil be the same everywhere and the US is doing all the police work??? |

well it's still cheaper than what I pay for fuel here in Northern Ontario as here we pay $1.22 per liter so that is almost $5.50 per gallon That is why I charge a 5.5% fuel surcharge on the total invoice.

My brother is a logger, which requires alot of trucking to get the logs/chips to the mill. I asked him about this fuel situation and how he protects himself from the rising fuel costs. He says he does a short term contract, or better yet, puts in the contract the haul rate based on current dollar amount for fuel, and it is adjusted based on the rise of fuel. Otherwise you could be closing up shop in a hurry. In Sept the fuel here was $3.19 a gallon, now it is $3.99 (at least that was as of last night, could be more today). |
