I am wondering if the sch---- 45 and larger all have a reducing pipe on the tip section? |

NO.THE 47M,55M,61M HAS REDUCTION PIPE.These models are the same booms as the 45m,52m,58m,with extended tip sections, thus the reasoning for the reduction pipe. |

OK,next question,I am always pulling bricks out of the 5-4 reducer, sometimes 2 or 3 times in a pour. What kind of a p.i.t a. would a reducer mounted solidly to the boom be? |

I ran a 47 for a bit and never had something like a rock get stuck in the reducer, it's only a half inch or so reduction. Only time I had problems is when we changed the tip pipe without replacing the reducer and we think the lip between the new pipe and old reducer made it get plugged up until we realized the problem. Anyone else ever have something like this happen or am I nuts? |

We are running the 47 also, I think its nuts to be honest. Nice machine though, just don't bother trying to get the thompson on steroids around wires. No pun just a boom to get use too.

OK ; I've run a 47 for almost 2 yrs now and Ive plugged in the 4 1/2 reducer 3 times! Once a big rock, and twice a dumba** mixerdriver trying to drag race me through the primeout!! Kind of a bitch to take the u-bolts off to take the reducer off, but now I just watch the first driver like a hawk! Like the" monkey and peachpit" joke!! You also gotta watch that first pipe after the reducer,as it wears QUICK!! Sumthin about velocity... |

MS,yes indeed volocity. In the past several years these pumpkits simply burn the pipe up.I was finding the predictable high wear spots changed.Long ago pipe tended to wear on outside but today who knows.Ahhh the price of production. |
