I'm picking up a strong vibration in the pump that does the actual stroking. We put a flow meter on it and it starts to vibrate at about 210 to 240 gpm but needle on the meter doesn't move. By keeping the rpm's at about 1700 it takes it away. Any thoughts? |

there is lots that can cause vibration, the plates in the pump could be scarred or out of balance usually your pressure would drop off, is it a schwing or putz ? you may want to check input shafts especially on a putz I have had numerous failures on earlier models and the steibel boxes on a schwing on auto trannys or known for problems also |

My guess is that you've checked the drivelines, but have you checked the splined inserts?? Looks solid, but I've seen the short end break 4 or 5"inside the shaft. You DO NOT want them to let loose! Been there, done that!! Tied up traffic for 6 hours!! Also look at the hollow shafts inside the Steibel. We had that problem a few years ago,and changed them in all our pumps! 4 out of 10 were bad!

I would definitely check your drive lines & U joints. We had something similar on our 61, and it turned out to be a driveline issue. We put in a new balanced driveline & new U joints & it solved the problem. |
