An Ausie would make a fine owner. The pump would be back home. I imagine a guy could pretty much get anything in the way of spares for it there. You know it will sell for $0.20 on the dollar. Too nice a machine to be abused and un-loved. ;~) Speedy could have his cab & chassis and everyone would live happily ever after. Old John Steele used to say nice things about the unit. |

According to unfair Australian Customs laws (which has been amended grossly in favour of all local motor vehicle dealerships, and to squeeze the little guy in terms of importing second hand machinery), if the Mack truck, not pump, was manufactured after 1 January 1989, there is no foreseable way it will ever get to Australian shores in one piece. |

bob, what i meant was we have enough older gear floating around over here, 10 years or so ago a boom any bigger then 30 metres was a large machine, now we have 40's and up just doing the residental stuff. the above site is our local what's available site, have a browse, makes all your machines cheap to me. have a look at ad.#4251 @ ucp.com, that package would be close to a mill over here new so buying that then selling the truck to speedy, shipping the module down under and retrucking would not be a wasted exercise. tebequip, i am guessing that that callaghan machine was built quite a few years ago when brian snr was building big strong pumps, now callaghan are mainly agents for kcp. i have operated most of the equipment available from korea (daewoo, hanwoo, kcp, dns, jun jin) and you do only get what you pay for but if i had to pick one as being a bit better then the rest my vote would be hanwoo. i dont like pressurised oil tanks, they cause oil leaks, i think the added air pressure in the boom turret is a reason for failure in time to come. (listen to the creeks and groans when you release the pressure after working the machine all day.) i found the hanwoo a much stronger pump, had balls compared to the others, i like the closed circuit and proxie switches, found it easier to understand the workings of it. i enjoyed not having to climb up just to turn the water on or off, why do they put the water and paddle controls 8 feet off the ground. i have had no dealings at all with kcp (callaghan)so i cant comment on their back up service but the others are like talking to trees. as i cannot speak korean i have and will again be shooting emails up and over to your side of the world for asisstance when needed.
