I do think that cameras are a no-no in chemical plants/refineries.....Sealed

Not a good idea to post "trade" secrets on the internet for the whole world to see.I broke out a camera at a prison job about 30 years ago, almost ended up on the wrong side of the gate. Please keep our American ingenuity where it belongs,here.........

We have two refineries in our area, and we are not allowed to take pictures. Have to be clean shaven also to get in.

Its funny though, because they still have asbestos wrapped lines all throughout the place. Pretty High Tech

The no pictures thing is more so that in the event of spill, accident or OHS violation that cameras are not at the ready to document it.  Not so much for trade secrets.

Same kind of thing in prisons....don't want 'rights' violations recorded by outsiders.

disagree , ive worked in refineries my whole career , and have many times gotten permission to take photos and many times had to get at angles where I wasnt taking pics of tanks or units in which plants didnt want there technologies on camera, accidents and spills I've always been able to take pictures, as long as I wasnt taking pics of refinery or chemical plant equipment.
