prop to the carpenters. over the last year been seeing some 'Funcky Jobs', as i call em. i have to admit that i do not miss high volume jobs. all the work thats done so i can fill the forms with mud. "Ah, your to kind." and to own placing and finishing crews who would love to have a couple weeks of good old open boom slab on grade. the three guys in orange high-vis overalls are operators. i was outside on the radio. |

Great stuff. Amazing what can be done in concrete when the form work is like this. Props to the Carpenters. Where is this and what Local? Thanks for taking the time to show this. Many people say the quality of the trades is not there these days. This is living proof it is. |

tebequip, there sure is skilled trades out there. all but the mountain/cave are in greater Vancouver. we're non-union so the only union guys i see are CLACers, which in my eyes is the Walmart of a union. |

Nice pics Shortstick...Back in the early eighties I was trying to make a living in Birch Bay WA (I'm sure you know where that is...) just south of the U.S. / Canadian border. I seem to remember that the Trade Unouns in B.C were pretty powerful back then... apparently that is no longer the case, huh? GO DAWGS!!! BEAT THE DUCKS!!! Big T |

Our placing crew has been doing work there for the past few months, they do a nice job.. but are by no means the cheapest in town.. did the forming contractors do their own concrete placing of the walls/foundation ? , and yes Ocean is still supplying, I have have nothing but good things to say about them, probably my favorite of the larger ready-mix outfits...
As a side note... apparently the house next door (to the west) is the residence of none other than David Suzuki (of "the nature of things" fame)... |

Big T, im alberta home grown and was just a kid living in a ression in the 80s. ive heard that that unions once had alot of influence in Greater Vancouver Area and were the cause of their own demise (as i understand things) 16cell, heard the same thing, you ever notice that around 0930h - 1000h a skunk seems to be in the area hahaha. yah the original forming contractors did their own placing for the walls, footing and our crews did the flat work. we were supplied with oceans 'kim' mix and man was that a nice mud to have in the pump. |
