A question for my fellow married pump operators????

So I recently got married to the love of my life on May 7th and even though I have been in this industry for the last 10 years and I am a second generation pump operator. I am new to the married life. My wife and I have been together for 2 years and during that time I was not pumping. So she is just getting acclimated to the long and uncertain hours. Well I recently took a job and things are going awesome. I have been putting in good hours and I have been commuting about 90 miles each way to work. So needless to say I have been leaving the house really early and as you all know at all different hours. But my wife has been getting on my case about me not waking her up and telling her to have a good day and that I love her. I actually just thought I was being nice by not bothering her. Since we have a daughter that is a little over 1 and another one on the way. I didn't feel it was fair to wake her up at 3 am just to say goodbye. So my question is Do all of you guys wake your wives up just to say have a good day? I just wanna know what you all think? Thank a million.

Get out of bed at 2 am and tell her to fix your breakfast a couple of days of that and she will either starch your drawers or say don't dare wake me.

I think you should do as she asks at least she is not waking you up.

I always try to sneak out without waking her. Thats also what she wants. Since we have a 1 year old as well ;-) She needs all the sleep sjhe can get and sometimes if she wakes up she has trouble getting to sleep again.

Good luck with your hours mate!!  Remember: We work to live... We don't live to work.

My ex left me for another pump operator. He runs a 58 and I run a 39. They say length matters.

Rofl Dlee that made me chuckle :) @ Big Poppa always give the ol lady a kiss and say good bye . before you leave. They will fall back asleep soon enough plus you need to know she knows you love her by doing this each and every morning. Ive been married for 13 years now and cant imagine not say good bye to my wife each and every morning or in my case a phone call no matter what time it is she will answer.Remember one thing , if momma is happy the whole family is happy :)

I always ask my wife if she wants me to set an alarm for her... That way she knows what time I have to get up... I think she might be having an affair though. The other night I was trying to "get a little lovin'"... I whispered in her ear "do you know what your a%#hole is doing when you have an orgasm?" She looked me in the eye and whispered back "yeah, you're usually out pumping concrete..." Sorry Todd! I couldn't resist...

take some pics and show her , look if you cant go to work without being accused of cheating you might wanna start looking elsewhere for a woman sounds like shes been cheated on before.

Maybe when she spends your paycheck she will realize that you are busy working and making money so she can get that new Coach purse. If she is accusing you of cheating, go find another one. The one who accuses one of cheating is usually the one cheating.

If she says she wants a kiss and an I love you, then give it to her! and notes r good. make sure she understands what you do and that she knows that your hours are gonna be like doctor hours. You might be suprised, she might get all excited about what you do and that makes the life of a pump operator and his wife alot easier if she likes it as much as you. I was with an operator for over 9 yrs in Arizona, Texas,Utah,Florida and Canada. I loved what he did, the more i learned the more i loved it. I can even run one if i had to. I even go to the World of Concrete just to see the big pumps, they are amazing. Its easier for her to understand if she can have a few friends that have husbands in the same field too. Pumping concrete is an art and the more she knows the more she will understand it and appreciate you more. Well it did for me. I hope this helps.!!!
