Every so often you get a really good feeling when you see a payoff for your efforts. Yesterday, Groundhog day, an operator called me on the radio and said; "They want me to set-up 5 feet from this powerline and boom under it, and I am not going to do it!" This sounds typical until you consider the fact that 1. He is very green 2. The contractor was telling him the wires were 'dead' 3. The salesman was telling him that they were not even powerlines. It reminded me of a stopped clock. He was right two times that day. 1. When he did not do it 2. When he did not kill anyone. I was so proud of him and the reason he didn't do the pour.................... He said; "It was against the rules." Someone, besides me, should say Thank you!!! ;~) |

That is so cool, good job Bob and good job operator. The number one cause of death in this industry is hitting power lines and sounds like this guy will live a long |

I would have to buy that operator a beer. we all face power lines on a regular bases. It sure helps when the "Boss" trusts your judgement on wether a pour is safe or not. Excellent work All!
