This is a MACK code thing. the 'puter cant figgure out why the trany spins with the brake set, must be an abs brake fault. So jus ignore it. |

duck tape leave a sticky film after a while. hard to get the glue off. as for the ABS light. for a couple hundred bucks im sure Mack can fix that by plugin in with a laptop, other then that.... WahWohWonnnhhh |

According to our mechanic if the ABS light is on solid; than means the ABS have been disabled and your truck has regular braking. If it only does it while you are pumping and the light goes out when you are driving then don't worry about it (mine does the same thing, 07 Mack with a 36M Putz). If the light comes on other than when you are pumping, then check the wires that run to your wheel sensors and even the sensors themselves. Chances are that water is getting in somewhere and causing a bad connection. If the light is blinking in a sequence ( blink code ) then put it on a computer to find where the fault is. |

As I recall Mack said this condition was due to a bad --- link in the harness.Story sounds good to me,and they are sticking to it.Gotta love mack. |

pumpingdave, They're right electrical tape will work fine but just for good measure, Check all your wheel seals inside and out for any sign of an oil leak. My abs indicator lit up once in a while and I discovered an oil leak on my forward rear axle. The backside of the dual was covered with 90 wt. and caused the abs to malfunction. Better safe than sorry??? |

Actually, this is a normal system condition for later Macks. In order to avoid ABS brake system tampering (see an earlier situation whereby someone disconnected the ABS sensors at each wheel and then the function failed to turn on during an acident which lead to legal problems) so Mack has recognition that the driveline is spinning while wheels are stationary and prompts the light during PTO mode. Normally, the light turns off once you've exceeded a low speed like 20km and ABS reconfigures for road operation. If it does not shut off then there might be an electronic issue with the wiring, sensors, or programing parameters. |
