Sounds like Metal fatigue or boom weight exceeded.

This BS happens all too frequently. The problem lies with inexperienced operators loading the boom with at worst 8.0mm thickness pipes or a 100mm spec'd boom with 125mm thinking they will get less wear and tear. Either that or they have 6 meter delivery hoses of the boom.

The crap you see here most of the time...

It is not at all cool to overload your boom. Someone - someday will have to pay the price of that stupidity.

Yes Bob,wasn't something posted recently about crane assist.A good example in picture,loss of life tragic.
