The ACPA will be having a Seminar in Seattle soon. I was wondering what companies will be attending. The Seattle area has more issues going on right now than any other area in the USA.

Thats a first todd. You not being positive about a company. I agree with you though. Why would they hold it at a pump companys place? |

This is not a commentary on Conco. I am not even saying they are at fault for all the drama and hatred that is going on up there. I am not siding and that is not my point. I am not bad mouthing Conco. My point is why would the ACPA hold the meeting there. I just think that the ACPA asking Conco's competitors to go to Conco for a safety Seminar is kind of like asking the Indians to go to a health clinic at General Armstrong Custer's house. I think that is how Conco's competitors are going to feel. |

The GM at Conco is and always has been active within ACPA. I'm sure that has some bearing on the location. It also saves ACPA money by not having to rent a meeting room at the Hyatt Regency or Holiday Inn. If the competition doesn't show due to the location, it is a feather in Conco's hat as far as safety. They can then go to customers and say "Look, we hosted an ACPA safety seminar, and none of our competitors showed up. Who cares about safety now?" In spite of the hard feelings around the Seattle area, I think the comp will send their people. And maybe some fences will be mended. |

northwest63 | 03-07-2010 | reply profile send pm notify |

pumpjockey | 03-07-2010 | reply profile send pm notify |
To rent a meeting room in a hotel isn't that expensive. You could likely negotiate the rate quite easily, given the state of the economy. |
||
HardFace | 03-07-2010 | reply profile send pm notify |
neutral. yep that's the way to go!! not at conco's place.pumpjockey's wright just look around. |
||
Raymond | 03-07-2010 | reply profile send pm notify |
The ACPA should rent a place. Everyone who bothers to spend the money to join deserves that.

NW63, no apologies necessary. I have no dog in the fight. I guess I underestimated the extent of the dislike for Conco in the PNW. Nuff said. |

Hey this post sure looks familiar! I plan on going. The guys at Conco are guys exactly like the rest of us. As a matter of fact most of them are people I have worked with and have known for a very long time. They're the exact same people that they were when we worked with them somewhere else. Bottom Freakin line is We alll do the same thing and try day in & day out to get the mud out the end and keep everyone around us alive in the process! Who gives a big $hite where or who you work for, just buck up and be there... or be square! Besides, I'm rollin solo and I may need some back up at some point (KiDDing!!!) |

you guys are right don't go that seminar is for operators not laborers running pumps |
||
Todd | 03-08-2010 | reply profile send pm notify |
I emailed you TooTall. Did you get it? I am not saying that they should not go, I am just saying that I think a more neutral place would of encouraged more operators and owners to attend. If everyone goes now I think ACPA should hire security. |

Mike Cusack has put a lot of his own time and money into the ACPA because he feels it is a very viable organization for this industry . in talking with him at the seminar in Denver he said if the ACPA wasn't around there would be a lot more injuries and deaths to pump operators .so the bottom line is SAFETY ! the fact that he is holding it at his facility is to save on cost to both himself and the ACPA and again SAFETY .The board members dont collect a salary from the ACPA.the time and work they do is of there own time and there own dime .so to look at the big picture what is Mike trying to do promote SAFETY for as many operators that they can, if we cant all get along in the name of safety then we are in fact in trouble as an industry I'm sorry to say . |
