Hi there,
The company I work for have recently gone into concrete pumping. They took a driver on who subsequently blocked a 1995 Putz m22.. Left it full..
I've cleared the boom deck pipes hopper off new pistons cylinders.. And cannot clear the last bit in the changeover trunk.. It the elephant style one up through hopper..
My boss and owner is Adamant on cutting a rectangle box out just after the bend to clear it then welding the hole over.. I've said this is not an accepted practice and we hAve argued consistently about it. Con Forms have said the same..
Any thoughts?? And or seen this done before?
Pipe 19mm thick 4000psi if blockage would occur, pipe made of magnesium alloy cast

I will ask Eng dept but I do not think they will advise to weld a patch on the cast trunk.
Please dont cut it yet. |

it that last bit of concrete that you just cant get to , haha been there , go carefull with the cutting gear, better with a disc cutter, then when you have got the concrete out weld the piece back in and wrap a good repair patch all the way round. Will be fine. Alternatively , you can heat the unit up and sometimes it breaks away . If you still dont fancy this then it back to layin it on the floor and beatin the crap outta it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

You could take it to a company that does high pressure water jetting, they will clean it out in no time without having to risk damage to your machine or workers!! |

DONT cut a hole in it! It WILL blow off whatever you try to patch it with eventually! Remove the valve & chip the concrete out or replace the valve. |

Basically response from Eng was NO, Cast components are not good candidates for weld repairs, To do it correct would be more $$$$ than a valve. |

new valve or the water jetter , water jetting will get it out for minimal cost especially if you bring to thier shop, got a whole 36m pipeline done for 1200 american dollars. |
