Well wednesday I have a 150 yd. pour, but it's 450ft. of hose(it's a line pump job). This is the most hose i've had to lay out with my new pump(04 putz katt kreter). i've pumped 400ft. with my old pump(t/a 650) with no problems, but that was a peagravel mix., and wednesday's job is a 3/8"-3/4" mix. I have the experience(4years) to do the job but my boss is nervous and it's starting to make me nervous...any advive would be great. thanks.

are you in corvallis, sureflow.  i cannot believe the T/A did 400 foot i have done 275 with my ball putz and it was hitting hard. i have done 300 foot with my TK-40 easy, not sure if i would try more but the katt will do the job. the 3/8x 3/4 can be good with plenty of sand. iam all 2.5 inch rubber so if you run pipe i do not see a problem. bring a tender so you can watch the pump and no have to run that far to clear a plug. premix all of your slurry like bentonite the day before.

Make them use grout to prime and request a retarder in the mix to protect your system. Enjoy it and Have Fun!

Your pump will do that job, no prob'

I would take two 5 gal buckets of very wet grout and pour it in the discharge end of the system and 'walk it back'

It is also a good idea to wet the inside of your system before assembly.

Go get-em ;~)

HEY OREGON PUMPER, GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT! BB HAS NEVER TURNED DOWN A JOB OR TOLD A CONTRACTOR THAT IT CAN'T BE DONE, UNLESS THERE IS IMMEDIATE DANGER TO LIFE OR PROPERTY! I RESPECT YOUR 4 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A LINE PUMPER, BUT DON'T THINK YOUR UP FOR AN AWARD! IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU NEED TO CLIMB DOWN OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE AND HUMBLE OUT A BIT. 450' CAN BE TRICKY (CONSIDERING YOUR PUMP, SYSTEM, AND EXPERIENCE) BUT DONT THINK FOR A SECOND WE COULDN'T DO IT! JUST OUT OF MY PORTLAND YARD WE HAVE PUMPED THROUGH 1,200 PLUS FEET OF HORIZONTAL SYSTEM, UP MOUNTAINS, DOWN VALLEYS, ACROSS RIVERS, UNDER WATER, DOWN TUNNELS, ACROSS BRIDGES, UP THE SIDE OF BUILDINGS ETC... IF IT CAN BE DONE, BB CAN DO IT. HERE IN PORTLAND WE HAVE MORE COMBINED EXPERIENCE THAN ANY OTHER PUMPING COMPANY BRANCH AROUND, SO BEFORE YOU GO POSTING THAT BB COULD NOT DO A JOB, GET THE FACTS! IF YOU OR YOUR BOSS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT YOU CAN CALL ME DIRECTLY (503-793-0071) AND I WILL SET THE STORY STRAIGHT!

I'M NOT HERE TO TRASH ANYONE BUT I WILL NOT SIT ON THE SIDELINE WHILE SOMEONE MAKES FALSE CLAIMS AGAINST MY BRANCH, OR ANY OTHER BB BRANCH FOR THAT MATTER!

BB is a strait up company and I know they know what is going on. If BB turned down a job it was only for a very good reason, such as it was unsafe, customer does not pay, would not do the job for free. The one thing i know about BB is they know how to make money by pumping concrete. I would not let him get under your skin Joey, I dont think he meant anything by it. I think he was just excited to do such an exciting job. I hope it goes good for you.

joey i'm not making false claims, i was just going by what my boss had told me about this job. i wasn't trying to pi$$ anybody off i apologize. but i did find out the true story today. i went to look and the job (yes it's a nightmare) and the contractor told me they couldn't get the permits to close the road down for your 63m so i get to do it.

No worries! A good lesson in this is that this industry is extremely small and you've got to really be careful on what rumors you spread. You would be amazed at how fast even a little comment like yours spreads in this industry. So I hope you understand my reasoning for the quick defense. I do hope everything goes well for you with that pour. Just listen to what the old timers on here say and you should be fine.
