try adjusting your stack valve handle stops if you regulate speed |

You gotta slap it. Throttle down a bit and tap it. Some work better with "leaning into it" rather than slapping it. Its all just a matter of feel. You can also dial in the stack valves. Practice in an open field first. |

Click click click. Click right before it starts to back swing. I can put my old schwing on a gnat's ass.
Like Fred told me "don't worry in about six months you'll start to get the hang of it". |

Tap tap tap Then Tap tap tap and when your finished tapping start Tap tap tapping again , takes practise, you can usually hold one stage and tap the other e.g Hold stage three up then start tapping stage one down fast, if you do big taps the machine will start rap dancing lol |

If its acting violently, you may need to troubleshhot the problem. Most manufacturers set up boom movements in harmony with one and other cylinders, so it is smooth operation. Best thing you can do is get into a habit of using two controls at the same time to distribute oil flow between two or more cylinders at any given time. Other technical options are, change or omit the orifice in the holding block to increase or decrease oil flow. If your boom cylinders have been in service there is a good chance the orifices may be mixed. In every case a cylinder extend slower than it retracts, thats where the orifices balance the movements. Turn the oil pressure down or adjust if at the pressure regulator if its too high or agressive boom movements i.e At max rpm adjust to max hydraulic pressure or lesser. approx 280 bar for long service life. Some black and white radios can be teleteached to change signal voltage to lower and can make operating slightly easier (in turtle mode opposed to rabbit mode). |

in my experiences you always tap the function that gravity is helping as boom down tip down and so on and hold the up function, on a putz the only way to slow it is to adjust your stack valves if youve been running a radio remote you will have to adjust stack cause they usually are wide open |

I would'nt suggest making any mech. adjustments just yet. It's gonna take some getting used to. Stay close to it for a while so you can see the whole boom and listen to what it's doing When you're practicing be sure to do it with the boom loaded. You can even load it with water in the yard to get a better feel for it while it's loaded. That much weight makes a huge difference in function. |
