Chris I'm a concrete contractor from central WI. Bought a refurbed tb105 from putz. They did a great job on it. I've owned ours since mid July,Never had any pump experience but the belt seems hassle free so far.Any big messes came during the first couple of weeks during training. Also a guy from northern IL. on this site w/a belt. maybe we can get out own sub-catgory going, these pumper guys don't semm to interest in belts. any tips re operation or maint. would be a big help welcome to the site. I'm very interested in these.  About how much do they cost, how are rentals priced and how much is an average rental for these machines? What kind of maintenance do they need? How difficult are they to operate? How big of a mess do they make? How long does it take to clean them? What are the advantages and disadvantages of them? Why doesn't every pump rental company own one? Anything I missed, please fill me in, I would like to know.

Thanks, Robert

I also am very interested! If anyone has one Within 4 or 5 hours of north texas i would love to come see it in action, and am willing to make the drive. I think the other guy asked the main questions but what jobs would you use a telebelt on that you wouldnt use a pump on or what jobs would you use a pump on that you wouldnt use a telebelt? are they mainly for high volume pours? Also you can use other materials such as sand and gravel right?

I'm not an operator, but I am in love with a belt (and so is anyone that has used one with the right operator). They place rock, sand, concrete and more.  I have 2 in my fleet a 105' and a 130'.  The rates are the same for concrete (unless there are overhead obstructions or an unpumpable mix) as a 36 and 42, but for backfill the 105' gets $250/hr and the 130' gets $300/hr.  They work under 16', will place anything that will go into the hopper, no prime/clean out pile, keep the belt speeds adjusted (main slower than feeder) and scrapers tensioned and clean up is minimal.  Will do anything a pump will do and more except go up and over.  Keep belts, scrapers and cables tensioned and clean; and 5" rollers clean and main belt will last 2 yrs, cable 2 yrs. and feeder 1 yr. much cheaper to run than a pump.  And except for the belts, cable and shieves everything can be purchased at a hardware store.  Just last week we placed 6" rock one day and pea gravel the next at full extension and 30o.  40 semi loads (not tandems) each day!  It would have gone faster but the 2 3yd. loaders couldn't keep up.  I, like most pump guys never thought much of a belt until I was around one with the right operator, now I'm sold.  JohnThomas, it depends on what part of  Texas you are in but Brundage-Bone is running 3 belts in Dallas, 1 in Lubbock, 2 in San Antonio, and 1 in OKC.  There are also 2 roaming around Sweetwater/Big Spring at separate wind farm projects.  These are the only belts in or around the state.  Go to the website to look up the manager at the location closest to you, contact them and they would be more than happy to show you a belt in action.

Here in central WI. a tb105 run's about 150/per hr. and $3.00 per yd. for miIx. Doing backfill $200.00 hr. flat fee I think tb  130's are about 175/hr. plus matl'. We are getting ready to slow down up here and I'm looking to keep myself and the belt (tb105) busy during the slow time anywhere in the midwest thanks Terry (608)963-4183

I'm probably the Il. guy Terry mentioned. It looks like the other guys answered most of the questions already. So I'll just say thanks to the pump guys for letting us invade your forum a little. There may be a forum for us somewhere, but I haven't found one yet. I've definitely learned some new stuff reading this and other pump forums.

Thanks again
