What make of Volumtric Mixer is that?  It looks rather home made?  Do you have a larger picture? Or others?

they do not work very well with pumps in my experiences, but I'm sure they have certain places where they are perfect for the job at hand

I was with a customer that had both volumetric mixers and pumps and they were working well together, I wonder if the settings are in need of tweaking.

VM's are tricky beasts.  The materials loaded in the hopper must be very consistant throughout.  Whereas a regular 'batch-mixed' truck has a large volume of material that is 'averaged' and mixed virtually homogeneously.  A VM is continually mixing, and only has 6 to 10 seconds in the auger to mix, and the cement has had virtually no time to absorb the mix water, also the admixes have also had very little time.   A VM is all about the operator - he's the 'batch man'.

well to add my 2 cent to this , we work with an all vm company near us ,mixing is sometimes a small problem, but with only running 40 yd an hr trailer pumps they dont do bad keeping up with us. I'm sure keeping up with you guys with the boom trucks is a different story.

We got loads of these over here, thay aint bad providing the company buys good materials, trouble is a lot of them are run by small outfits who buy the cheapest materials they can. Always stick the first two barrow fulls straight on the deck, not in the pump or get the driver to run the sand down the belt first with no stone. Be carefull of them running out of material as they dont no till its too late and you got a pump full of crap! Schwing 900 on tick over is just nice for them speed wise.

One of our clients has 2 of these fresh batch trucks that calls us several times a month. It's usually very few meters and the pours are slow, but it works well. Speaking from a line pump perspective though.
