Just wondering,, I use stuff spatter coat 100 right now, to keep concrete from sticking to my truck, but I run a pump.. The guy who runs our belt truck swears that stuff is making all the rubbers stretch on his, and I came across willie shield and thought I would give it a try..Has anyone else tried it though?? I was also wondering about their primer also.. |

I used it when it was first introduced. The product worked as advertised. When it first hit the market there were a couple of issues. The first was that it needed to be agitated or the solids would come out of solution (settle). We received it in large plastic containers so it was an issue. That would probably not be the case with a 6gal pail; or whatever size they are. The second issue was that the viscosity was temperature sensitive. It got very thick when it was cold and would not atomize from a pressurized sprayer. Both of these issues were on 'first production run' products and my guess is that they have been delt with. Nevertheless those negatives, even if they were still prevalent in the product, were not enough reason to not use it. It was good stuff. It had no negative effect on the components on the belt trucks. Now I never sprayed it on the inside of the belt to see what would happen; but a regular spray on the rails, hoppers, transfers and everything else was not a problem. All and all I would say YES; it is a good product. Oldschool2 is using it now and could give you an update on it. ;~) |

I would call these guys, they have all the products under the son and are really nice people. They also advertise on this site so if you could at least call them that would be cool. http://www.fritzpak.com/ Whats the guys name who was the chemist for the slick Willie products he has a shop in GA close to Pioneer Concrete pumping. I know he would be a good guy to talk to also and has allot of the product on hand. I forgot his name and cant find his # but somebody might know it and post it.

Bob, Thanks for the info, I'll tell our belt guy and maybe we'll get a sample of it and give it a shot.. I know the spatter coat works well for me, but I run a pump and don't have to deal with rubbers like he does.. I put my name on the willie website, so maybe they will get back with me on some of that stuff.. Todd, I guess if you could, I would'nt mind getting that number from ya and maybe I could talk to that guy and find out some more info also.. Thanks from all of ya,, And I'll keep in mind spatter coat+rubber= very bad..
