you should use water pressure not air pressure

Thanks for the reply, I do use water pressure but using the compressor to blow the ball out would be faster.

air to the hopper is ok. air to the pour is not ok. 120psi is all you should need for most jobs. once you get over 200ft of 4 inch though 120psi will not work anymore

Dont need one 07-25-2013

It's not just pressure, you have to have a certain amount of volume. Try it with a small compressor and it will not work, then try it with a 185 CFM and watch what happens. Since your asking these questions maybe you better have someone thats done this show you first.

watch the flow  keep the air on a min by turning on and off toward the end concrete will speed up turn air off.

Last year i pumped a job at a prison 500 ft off the back end of a boom all 4 inch line it was in the laundry sector where they had a compressor. The compressor had a 60 gallon tank and used 220v not sure how many phases it was but the compressor shut off at 120 psi. I used this compressor to blow the line back into a dumpster 30 ft away from where the pump was set up so total 530 ft of 4 inch line i was confident it was gonna work and i think i was the only one that was lol we did have a plan b but we didnt need it it worked took almost 20 minutes but it was a lot safer then those tow behind compressors half way through i ran back to check the pressure on the compressor it was at 60 psi stayed that way till the ball came out.

I use air to clean out all the time and i know that it can be dangerous and to make it as safe as possible blow it back to the pump if you cant manage it right. For blowing it to the pour you gotta be on your game some ways to minimize a big blow out at the end is pumping your line out as much as you can with your pump first run it dry letting your pump blow some air pockets though doing this will take less air pressure to push your ball though with air also wetting it up at the end helps too.

When i use air to blow to the pour i crack the ball valve on my cap just enough so it doesnt take off on you and follow the line and about 30 or 40 ft from the end i lift the hose up having enough room to kink it when i feel it pass me i then kink the hose and play with it while watching the end of the hose when done right the ball just falls out the end.

I do this all the time it took a lot of practice to get my system down im confertable doing it there for if you have any doubts at all dont do it after i post this there will probably be a lot of guys posting bad things about this but like i said i know its dangerous and i know its unsafe but it does work and it can be safe if you know what your doing.

I agree with Dont Need One
