I am, are you?

I started in 1996 as a grease monkey/ washout boy I was 16 in Victoria BC Canada.

By now I have run line pumps to 55m and everything in between. In 2008 I opened Pump Pro Concrete Pumping Ltd. in Kelowna BC Canada about 2 days before the collapse, sometimes I wonder if I caused it LOL. It hasn’t been easy but I still love getting up every morning to go out and pump concrete, and I will till the day I die. Now I have some great teammates who get as excited about pumping as I do.. Pump life can be a good life…..most of the time.

Thankfully No, I would have to find a hell of alot better Co. than I was with to go back to pumping. I liked it but way to much BS. I guess if I would have tipped a truck over or run out of fuel a couple of times or left a truck with a mess in the hopper I would have been more successful!

Started pumping almost 4 years ago when I was 17....absolutley love every minute of it! Can't imagine doing anything else but pumping concrete! Call me crazy but I know I'm a lifer!!!

Yep, I'm a LIFER! Started in 1973, at 18. I liked this job and realized it was my ticket to the other side of the tracks! What I'd like to know is how many ACTIVE operators there are at my age. I know of one in Northern Calif who started 2 years before me, and still goes out every day!

I work along side an old Italian, who I always looked up to, when I was 9, him and others I work along side showed me the ropes, never lost the passion for these exotic machines, he is 65 running a 26m boom with 400ft of line. I can't remember what ACPA said when they were in town, we had the most years probably in all the area, hehe  I know me off the record is about 40 years.

I will be 60 in January and bought my first pump in 1985.

Started about 10 years ago.. Had some small brakes in between working as finnisher and truckdriver.. Always had the feeling I was a better pumper after comming back from a brake. Maybe its because you get to see things clearer when you get out of it for a little while.. Come back with a fresh mind ;-) Must have driven at least 25 different pumps by now.. Black/white, Proportional, big, smal, mixerpump.. I love it..

Love the freedom and variation. Everyday a new job. Love to be captain on my own ship. Only getting tired of never knowing when you'll be home. It was never a problem but now I have a kid that is 1,5 years old and a wife with a full time job.. She is a data  engineer so she is deffenately not gona stop doing that work.. Its not easy like this.

Am looking for a solution at the moment. Eighter I want to work 3 days a week as pumper.. Maybe like a backup man.. There are more in the company that want to work like 4 days a week so than I can be their replacement 1 day a week..

If that doesn't work out I most likely will change job.. But what shall I do than? Pumping is my life. Any ideas??

Unfolded my first pump when I was 6. I'm 35 now. But really been at it since I was 18. Being raised in the business I should have payed a little more attention to the business part other than the truck part. 

I would like to see a pic of that wall we just leave the rubber out so that it wil spin

I won't show you mine, I always have to cut the handle off the top, the block fill is usually 1 block from the ceiling lol.
