You may have to become an eight armed mechanic to service them, and learn the quirks, they are a usefull machine in mountain terrain. The 2001 that is. Check which conversions they have and check for availability in parts. We sold ours years ago, but still would be nice to have one good one around.

Eugene,I would say it takes a special person to operate (patient).I would think parts are still available, perhaps pumpco parts. In many ways I still like the old 2001,very stable.Mixes would be of a concern (alot of hours banging rods).Beyond that a good foundation pump.Downside,oh those frustrating fan belts and murphy switch.I would think pipe and elbows may be available at conform or pumpco parts.

Go buy an old MG Sprite with all original Lucas electrical system and make it your daily driver. If you are at work, on time every day for two years ....... THEN you are enough of an electrician to purchase an 875 or 2001. If you can't make the car dependable....... don't buy the pump. ;~)

Hey,there you are.I did have one of those for about a week.I bought it cause it was a super steel.I even bought a shoe horn and can opener to help get me in (6'2").On the brighter side,I turned a tidy profit.
