You go to work at 11pm. You get off at 4pm the next day . You go home and find out you have to be at work at midnight. You try to lay down to sleep but you toss and turn about. Finally you get an hr of sleep. The alarm goes off. You go do your job . You work until 11am. Then you go home lay down an try to sleep but nothing. You finally get relaxed an doze off and you get a call around 6pm that you have to be back at work at 12am. So you toss and turn again wishing you can sleep. Butt the damn alarm goes off again. How many hrs do you really get to sleep? Take into consideration. driving to and from work. dinner. talking to the wife and kids. The person that can solve th hrs of sleep will win a case of whatever they want from me. |

Sounds like a standard issue big-boom schedule. I've found the area where you can pick up a few more hrs. When you returned home and tried to sleep but couldn't get relaxed...try this: have the wife tell you about her day. For me, I don't think there's anything else in the world that can make me more sleepy... ; ) ...and I'll take a case of earplugs. |

Same thing for me Bri last year in May we were doing bridge pours for a bunch of different companys I worked a saturday started at 4:30a.m didn't get off until 8:30p.m woke up at about 1:30a.m didn't go to bed until 10:00p.m. Sunday left the yard at noon didn't get back until 1:00p.m the next day then had to be back in the yard at midnight didn't get off until 7:00p.m that Tuesday. The whole week was that way with about the same time's midnight to 6:00 or 7:00p.m getting back in to the yard. all the way to Saturday when I had a 4 hour day. That week I got about 13 hours of sleep and worked about 104hrs. I totally see where your coming from you get home try to go to sleep but you know you have to be up in a couple hours so it's almost like your trying to hard to go to sleep and getting knowhere and as soon as you do crash your alarm go's off and then when you get up you seem to be worthless and out of it until you get your morning Monster or coffee and that gets you a little charged but not as if you got your good 8hrs. I mainly operate a s61sx a 105 and 130 when theres no big boom work, but running a big boom theres definently some crazy hours that come a long with it. I wish the best of luck to you Bri be safe and try to stay awake if you have any more of these days ahead, I know how your feeling. |

My worst ever was 14 days in row and in in those 14 days I had 206 hrs on the clock. Lucky for me the pump stayed on the job and the now ex picked me up and drove me back and forth and we lived only 15-20mins from the jobsite. |

bri,our whole branch at bbcp in Denver went through this when DIA was under construction. The schedual was so pushed that we often went long, long hours. I will say our operations manager was/is a star,he often relieved us or sent operators out.Safety was an issue then as today and all we had to do was call him. Strangly enough I miss those days. |
