I'm not exactly sure what you're asking but I think I do. Your pump should have came with two long (about a foot or so) bolts, that you put into the top two holes of the back end cover. These keep the cover suspended to work on the kidney seal, then allow you to slide the cover into place and bolt it back on. |

Yeap. Bolts not in toolbox anymore. Would stop by hardware on way in, apparently mech doesn't have a set. other pumps in yard are repo's apparently toolbox's were removed. my manual is also at there shop. thanks.. |

I wouldn't buy any old bolts for that application, not all bolts are the same, meaning a bolt from home depot is different than a bolt from somewhere like lawson. Given the weight that those bolts hold up at that length I would only want what the factory sells, it's my feet nearly under that plate sometimes. |

the bolt size is an M24 60mm 8.8 grade
but you would need a M 24 at least 200mm length to change kidney seal i would rather slide it right off and u can pick it up from the ring if u have a forklift |

Animal, My understanding is that a 'good' grade 8 SAE bolt is equivalent to a metric 10.9 Did you go to that link I put up and check them out? I admit that I have not done so for many years; but there is a wealth of information there. You can call them and speak to a real human and get solid information as well. Most of the stuff there is priced very well; but you always need to check with your manufacturer as they will surprise you on items that they sell a lot of. Just a thought ;~) |

The "ring" I don't believe is standard issue on all pumps, as I haven't seen it on all that have come through, but I could be wrong. Again as before, if you are going to take out the hex bolt and put a ring in, make sure it is a high grade "ring". As mentioned above, pulling the plate all the way off is another option compared to sliding it back on the long bolts. |

it is much safer sitting on the ground than hanging from those rods |

It seems that schwing would design the rods heavy enough to do the job in mind.A simple job changes to a real pita job by removing the kidney plate.Back problems anyone?A one man job would quickly turn in to a 2 man job with some kind of lifting device.Only semi-complaint I have is on these new units , you must remove the four bolt flange on the back of the kidney plate to remove the adjustment nut.Of course a simple process compared to fooling with a p---meis--- |

No matter what kind of pump you like you must agree that the Schwing Rock valve is the easiest to work on. The "S" tube boys need to at least get with the program with the top half of the hopper being removable. It really bites to hang upside down like a bat when changing the cutting ring. ;~) |

In the shop we always used the floor jack to help support the plate when on bolts |

I think schwing makes it that way so when a mixer driver pelays your hopper it is easy to change.......... |
