Changing seals in water box?

I have a question, hopefully someone has an answer.  I have a 32 meter Putzmeister, 32X150.  I am changing the seals inside the water box for my hydraulic cylinders, can I get the seals out inside the water box or do I have to take my hydraulic cyliners off to change the seals?  I have talked to 2 different people and I have been told that on the smaller pump cells the cylinders have to come off, and I was also told that I don't have to take them off.  Does anyone have information about this?

Look at the gland in the water box. If it has Allen bolts around it then you can replace the chevron seals with the cylinders in place.

Thanks for that info, yes I can see the bolts, they are all tied together with steel wire.  I will give it a try.

A tip for you. Take an old tooth brush and make it like a screw driver on the end and use it to push the seals in 1 at a time burp the air as you go and they will fit in better, the nylon brush handle will not damage the rod or seal
