Go and buy yourself some aluminum CLEANER at your local welding store! Mix this 2 parts dish soap( to prevent streaking as it thickens it up) to 1 part cleaner. Clean your wheels (it will turn them a dull color) then get a wheel polish from your local truckstop (I personally don't like Mothers, its not aggressive enough) like White Rabbit or Diamond White! I had always done them by hand, but you know, that Powerball sure makes it easy! Using the cleaner takes 1/2 of the work out of it, and the ball takes most of the rest. But you have to keep the maintainence up (haven't heard that before) and it gets easier!

I like to use a mild rubbing compound, then apply White Diamond wheel polish.. I do my best to keep my wheels polished, but it's extremely hard to do when your in mud or dumba**'s think they have to clean their tools beside the polished up pumper instead of the trashed out mixer truck that nobody gives a damn about.. Your truck is your billboard though, and when it's clean it says alot about you and the company.. Keep'em shinin'..

Stuff called Zepher Pro 40 works best for me.  semi liquid, easy to apply great results.  Well at least for me.  Inbetween polish use windex to clean.  only have to polish bout twice a year this way
