Imagine what that 770 billion could do for the REAL economy. Send it to all the states [except California] and make them spend it on roads, bridges water treatment and mass transit. I say except California because Todd says the state always diverts the money to their pocket. |

Ruck, We're in western Canada, oil country. 08 is by far our best year to date(10 yrs in the crete business.) BUT, just the rumor of recession stops big projects and now that oil is back to more reasonable prices the oil companies stop the wallets instantly. Quip, Of all of the things I hate about government, the worst is thier inability to get funds through proper channels to the person in need. Seems like only the rich that have the best lawyer gets any grant money, only the guy with a mansion in New Orleans gets to rebuild, you get the picture. Bob for president, 770 billion (if that is all) into infrastructure would fix a lot of stuff and peoples futures.

That was the reaction to the S&L crisis. Just as this is the reaction to the "no-qualify no-doc' we cant make the payments loan crisis. Both brought to you by the HORAY FOR ME AND FK YOU greedyass financial community. |

The problem with the bail-outs, stimulous what ever they want to call them is putting them where they will actually have positive effect. Sadly if they're put into the hands of the "people" that need them, the $$$ gets spent on bills and debt which does'nt do much for the economy overall. |
