pindle hook how old or fifth wheel? tragic never the less. Sorry to here of this, I ounce lost a trailer from an A-train pindle end the diophram on the cushion blew then brakeing the eye jumped up just right to kick the lock down and semi worn safety up, thus the safety chains jared and I nailed the brakes until it stopped. Lucky in many ways. Now this was the old stile pindle with curved tongue, were the air cushion was an integral part. |

the pump was manufactured in 1999 by the sounds of it the pindle was replaced with a standard ball hitch sometime after it left me i dont know what the laws are in colorado but in california we have to lock the chains and have a brake away brake ive had a pump come loose but never went far from my truck let everyone with a trailer beware you should replace your hitch pins annually and check the wear on all hitch parts its the vital link between 2 very heavy pieces of equipment and if no break away is required in your state get one anyway it just might save someones life |
