A concrete truck headed toward Main Street in Madison on Friday morning crashed into the New Jersey Transit overpass at Kings Road and Green Village Road, apparently chipping the overpass and leaking hydraulic fluid near a storm drain.

The driver, 50-year-old Pine Bush, N.Y., resident Howard Fisher, was taken to Morristown Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.

The truck was traveling northbound on Green Village Road when the upper boom collided with the bridge around 10:40 a.m., damaging the pump and releasing hydraulic fluid, Madison Police Lt. Darren Dachisen said.

Fisher was cited for careless driving, Dachisen said.

A New Jersey Transit spokeswoman said rail service was not affected by the accident.

A lift on top of the truck, which belongs to Hudson Valley Concrete Pumping Inc. in Wallkill, N.Y., did not clear the overpass. Traffic was being detoured near the accident until DeFalco's Automotive & Towing removed the vehicle around noon.

The fluid was contained before any entered the storm drain, Fire Chief Lou DeRosa said.

A message was left with Hudson Valley Concrete Pumping on Friday afternoon.

The Madison Fire DepartmentMadison Police DepartmentNew Jersey Transit Police, and the Whippany Fire Department's Hazmat unit responded to the scene.

thats either a 32 or 36, not a 38, c and d are too short to be a 38m, looks like a 32m to me, I know our 20 cell is 13'6" our 16 cell is 12'11" either way he wasnt making it under that overpass.

It's a 28M Putz., you can tell by the drop down rear outriggers as well as the single slewing cylinder on the turret
