I've watched this video no less than 15 times. I still cannot grasp why the operator would pull his outriggers in to adjust them with the boom in the air ? We are missing a part of this story, hopefully someone will fill in the missing blanks ?

Yea many, i saw that.

It's like the first few seconds of the video. It appears the O.R. was extended due to the fact of the plastic dunnage laying in the spot where it should be if the O.R. was deployed. I can see what looks like the edge of the O.R. retracted almost all the way in. What makes no sense is if he was adjusting it , how could he retract it while the boom is putting downward pressure on the leg ? This is an odd accident for sure, wish someone in the know would let us know more details.

I am only 30 minutes from there. Even this close, it is hush hush

Just looked at it again. There is a definate color difference against that front tire. A lighter shade that is the shape of the outrigger. So I would say that he had either sucked it in or it was never extended. The black pads you see were probably on the deck and slid off along with all of those square sponges laying there. I did not see in this video but the first pics that Todd posted. You can tell that the rear is not extended either.

because if you knew the operator that did it . he is a damn dumb itiot and he should not be allowed to be around a pump

If his outrigger lock didn,t engage and that outrigger floated it could roll in by itself. Or if the chain broke and lock not engaged it could roll in by itself with a floating outrigger.  I'm not saying it did but its something to think about we were not there.

Understandable Granddad. But with his boom up high in the air there is no way that outrigger was floating. Plus both the front and rear are all the way in. I am all for trying to be positive and give benefit of a doubt. But there is really no doubt here. Especially when the news clip says that he told police that he was adjusting outriggers. It all falls in his hands at that point.
