Hello i used to have an old version of a roughneck 5-3 hose. The last 6-8 inches was super Soft so i could fold it and attached it . But after 4 years of abusing it the soft end rip .I order a new one but now the end all wire bread till the end so there no way i could fold it to reduce mess . what are you working with?any suggestion ? Maybe a mud-snake? Lay flat hose? I would want to have a normal 5'' endhose without steel and a pin-pour in it. A good air clamp and get used to it. At the end you will not make a mess anymore.. |

Don't get me wrong.. I would not go for the mud snake. I just thought it fitted most of you wishes. I think some of the newest best mudsnakes don't kink so easy. You can lay them down and pump I believe. |

Marc is your 5 to 3 a Conforms Ruff Neck or a copy ? We just got a Ruff Neck and its good . I have seen a knock-off copy full of wire braid and its no good at all. No flexibility . |

Conforms products may be more money , but they are superior in every way. |

Guys , maybe the mixes where you are at are different , but fair warning with those 5-4 reduction hoses , they can turn a day real sour quick. Keep your reductions in steel. |

Ti so Don't lay those babies down, and yes they kink at low volumes easily however if you inform hoseman beforehand and pay attention they are a great product. Little to no splatter even at trickle.

Ive got a putz brand 5-3 hose that works amazing for me on wall and footing pumps. Unless a mixer sends a fin i have no problems. if they do i just switch over to a 5-4 steel with a 4" tip. Which is my normal setup for a floor or a big mat pour. other than that the putz 5-3 is my everyday hose and i love it. |

As long as your paying attention, and DO NOT Rush it, the 5-3/ or 4's work great. If you don' t rush you have more time to react when there is a problem(chunks or dough balls). It also helps to have an extra grate across the hopper to help catch any possible problem pieces. |
